Are you buying or selling

May 26, 2008 - 4:00 pm - Posted by Sherri R

The world of real estate has been in a state of flux since the last part of the year. With interest rates rising the market has gotten tighter for sellers in various markets and become a buyers market. The key to purchasing a home these days is to find a buyers agent. With Wilmington real estate agents they can help you locate property along the shore or withing Wilmington proper. They typically only represent the buyer and do not list houses. This way you get their complete attention and know how and when to make an offer and will generally benefit you much more than a full agent.

Where are you going to store your wine

May 23, 2008 - 2:07 pm - Posted by Sherri R

There was a celeb video website that was launched not to long ago that really never caught on.This site has a unique video content premise in that while you can submit videos like some of the other video sites, there are online sites that actually allows it’s users to be part of the daily shows and even one of their finalists now has received their own show. They even feature Andrew Firestone of “The Bachelor” show. His family owned a winery where you could stock your wine racks with some premium California wines. Although the wine business had nothing to do with his romantic skills. I was not a big fan of Andrew and we all saw the catastrophe that became of that show when he and Jen eventually split after the cameras were no longer were around. It makes you wonder why a guy like Andrew participated in this show since he was in line to receive some of the fortunes of the Firestone company, and even had his own winery. I think it was the need to be seen and get into showbiz.

A new class of baby showers

May 22, 2008 - 4:47 pm - Posted by Sherri R

My wife was actually able to throw them a great baby shower and was able to find just right supplies when hosting the shower. Everything from the napkins to the streamers matched and the newly expecting mother was quite amazed at all the work. You can basically throw your own themed baby shower. Baby shower party supplies could be a huge business in our neighborhood as we have 5 expecting mothers just in the next two months. The great thing about today as compared to when we were having kids is that most of the supplies can be easily found online without having to drive around from store to store looking for the right theme. So if you are having friends that are throwing a shower then look online to find your baby shower party supplies at sites like partypro.com.

The office hazing of the human resources person Holly

May 21, 2008 - 12:56 am - Posted by Sherri R

We recently came across Hulu.com which is a central video site for network shows like “The Office” which I am big fan. The latest episode is where Toby is leaving to go to Costa Rica and they bring in a new HR person to replace him. Dwight is set on a mission to help the new person get acclimated to the Scranton office. This particular video clip is a scene that did not make the actual show but is a classic Dwight scenario.

Sound Sleep on the road

May 21, 2008 - 12:27 am - Posted by Sherri R

I have been traveling quite a bit lately and have noticed a huge difference in the various mattresses that are in hotels these days. Some are very comfortable and it is like staying in your own bed. For the most part the beds are not that great and I can’t believe how tired I am during my stays and I am sure that it is because I am not getting a goods night sleep. I just wish they would offer upgrades to bedding like the memory foam mattress so that instead of getting the complimentary breakfast you can get a better nights sleep.

Where do you put your clubs

May 21, 2008 - 12:23 am - Posted by Sherri R

I love the game of golf and get out to play whenever I get a chance. I am amazed at how easy the Pros make it look as they hit every shot with such precision. Of course the great thing about being a recreational player is that we get to use golf carts when go out on the course. I am in decent shape but if I had to walk 18 holes three days in a row I am sure that I would be exhausted and what little game I had would be gone by Sunday. The golf bags of today are so much lighter and come with some great features that make life much easier for us weekend players. I would think that the golf cart manufacturers would lobby the PGA to get their carts on their tour as this could be a great advertising vehicle.

May 20, 2008 - 2:43 pm - Posted by Sherri R

The new entertainment centers are now able to enclose the TV from the entire room.

entertainment center furniture from spacify.com

With modern furniture stores like spacify.com they have positioned themselves to help answer these questions and provide solutions for consumers looking to update and modernize their home entertainment centers. They offer a wide selection of entertainment center furniture that is both functional and stylish. The pieces like the one picture help to showcase your new HDTV and accent the picture and not distract with a larger storage center. You are able to incorporate your accessories while not having that cluttered look. We recently updated our TV and went with the glass/stainless stand that almost makes the TV seem as if it is floating on top with the DVD player and stereo neatly centered underneath to help create a single unit.

Take care of your body

May 19, 2008 - 9:46 pm - Posted by Sherri R

For many small business owners and self-employed people one of the biggest costs that they must incur is health care. For small companies to be able to attract talented employees they have to be able to offer decent benefits in order to attract and retain their employees. Many companies are setting up health spending accounts to help keep costs down while giving employees more control of their health care dollar. Health care spending accounts can be taken out of the employees paycheck pre-tax which helps to add their attractive nature. But it is ultimately up to the consumer to keep pace with their own through products like liver cleanse that can help rid your body of various toxins that will decrease the bad things that store up in your body.

Playing Billiards

May 16, 2008 - 11:53 pm - Posted by Sherri R

bgsc0×0-12485.jpg

If you are someone that likes to play billiards every now and then, your probably going to need a good pool stick. Sometimes the best stick you can get, is by not really getting a stick. At least making your opponent feel like you are using the house stick. If you buy some of those sticks that are out there now, you can quickly determine that a player has brought their own stick to the pool hall. However, you can buy a stick that has that house-look to it and it plays like a nice stick. It’s some of the Sneaky Pete Pool Cues that you can now buy. Some of these sticks are really nice, but you can’t tell by looking at them. They are designed to look like your average house stick, but they play much better than a house stick. These Sneaky Pete sticks is a good thing to whip out at your favorite pool hall. Most players will shy away from the people that have a nice stick, but when they see your Sneaky Pete (and think it’s just a house stick) they won’t fear you a bit. That’s when you can get them on the table and start knocking down a few shots for them to see. They won’t know what to think, about a player that shoots as good as you and you are only using a house stick.

Check out some of these sticks the next time you’re looking for one. If you get the chance to play with one, you will love them as good as any other stick you could buy on the market today. I highly recommend looking at these Sneaky Pete pool cues, if you’re looking to buy a new stick. Be sure to let me know how you like the Sneaky Pete sticks and if you think they are as good as the fancy looking pool cues.

How do use your dining set?

May 16, 2008 - 3:19 pm - Posted by Sherri R

This past Mother’s Day we had family to help celebrate not only this special day, but it also happened to be wifes birthday. It was more of an informal gathering as we cooked outside since the weather was so nice. With all the kids over it was interesting to see that our dining room furniture was being used as the main gallery for those playing the newest Wii game. It was a great time as we actually set up a tournament for one of the Wii games where you played with a partner to try and reach the championship. We do a get a chance to use our dining room set occassionally but it seems as of late that the chairs have been a great seat for those watching the TV just off the dining area.

Making the space transition

May 14, 2008 - 4:47 pm - Posted by Sherri R

rugs for the creative space

There are many uses for rugs throughout your home one of which is creating a transition space between open spaces and doorways. With more homes where we live being built with the “Great Room ” concept it opens up the possibility to decorate. One of the main things is to keep the flow from the kitchen to the family room and not to box off the room with furniture that would defeat the whole purpose of the “great room”. Our home has this transition space between the kitchen and the family area that is hardwood leading to the carpet. We found that using two contemporary rugs that had the various colors of the room and darker colors to bring out the hardwood flooring was a great piece to have in between the two rooms.

This one small decorating touch has almost added a social space so that when we have friends and family over they hang out in this area so that you are right near the food and snacks but still close to the TV and other people that may be relaxing on the leather couches. So if you are trying to find a piece of furniture that might help to fill a void in a room, try looking at todays contemporary rugs with their great designs and colors to fill that void.

Using a wireless headset while driving

May 13, 2008 - 11:20 pm - Posted by Sherri R

In our state staring in July talking on a cell phone will be against the law and will cost you a ticket. They put in a law against texting while driving which seems like a no brainer and the cell phone law makes sense, but they will allow you to use a wireless/wired headset. As I drive around it really is amazing how many people are on their cell phone and studies have shown that talking on the phone can be a major distraction. Just think about the last time you drove home while talking on the cell phone and once you arrived in your driveway you don’t recall some of the common landmarks that you pass on your way home. Driving distracted is one of the key reasons that accidents happen because your response time is much slower and you cannot anticipate what is happening around you. There are already many states in the East that have made it illegal to talk on your cell phone while driving and it is strictly enforced.

Healthy options

May 13, 2008 - 6:39 pm - Posted by Sherri R

Most make some pretty bold claims but the key thing that most consumers should remember is that there is no magic bullet to help them loose weight. Pills like Phentermine can only be successful if used in conjunction with the proper diet and exercise.

Recduce your heating and cooling costs

May 9, 2008 - 11:43 am - Posted by Sherri R

We just recently received our latest heating and cooling bill and were amazed at just how much our bill was. We live in a brand new home and knew that all the insulation was great and there were no leaks. What we discovered is that our thermostat was in a room with no blinds in this room and this caused it to be in direct sunlight most of the day. So the thermostat was staying warmer and staying on longer even though the was staying cool. This was a lesson that we wanted to share and to look placing wood blinds in your windows and look at the placement of your thermostat and if your energy bills are sky high you may want to rethink where you have your controls.

How do you use your microwave

May 9, 2008 - 8:24 am - Posted by Sherri R

One of the great modern conveniences today is the microwave oven. It seems that they have been around forever and advancement in technology have been slow there are some cool features on the newest ones on the market. We use ours for a lot of different meals to help speed up the process since we have three kids in sports and cannot not wait 30-40 minutes to cook a meal. I saw the ad for a microwave that will now be able to connect to the internet and download various meal plans and cooking times so that you never have to guess on how long to defrost your pork chops or cook your favorite vegetable. And since microwaves seem to be so reliable you hardly need to find locate GE Microwave parts in the event of malfunction. But if you do and we have had to find a replacement light bulb for underneath the microwave then you may want to check out partselect.com where they carry a large selection of parts for microwaves, stoves, and refrigerators.
