For many companies in the healthcare industry there is an inevitable risk that their products may not be as effective for some patients as others. This is why there are strict guidelines on how devices and medicines are marketed to physicians and hospitals as to help protect the public at large. As we have seen with the most recent cases against a pain pump manufacturer that the device may have not operated properly causing undue harm.
