Do you need reading glasses?

Published on April 15, 2008 by in BLogging

I was sitting down on Sunday to read the weekend news and noticed that I was having to hold the paper away from me to actually read some of the articles. I never thought that I would need the assistance of reading magnifiers to help read the paper. While my vision is still good on a normal basis I have noticed that all the computer work that I have been doing lately has put more of a strain on my eyes. With more and more people sitting at the laptop or PC it is important to make sure that you take periodic breaks to rest your eyes so that you are not having to get reading glasses earlier than normal.

  1. It’s so true about computer strain effecting people. Younger and younger people have wanted reading glasses these days. They used to start in +1.00 strength, but now they come in half that strength. Also, melanin lens computer glasses are so popular. The melanin is actually incorporated into the lens itself, so it’s not a coating. It absorbs UV rays and glare. What a relief, I can’t work without them. Mine are non-prescription, but you can also get them in reading strengths. I’m 40, and i don’t need reading glasses just yet, although certain things like splinters are hard to see without help. :) Fala

  2. I wear reading glasses for working on the computer and I’m still pretty young. I found a nice, pretty cheap pair of women’s reading glasses online.
