Find your affiliate niche

If you do a search online for affiliate marketing you will find thousands of solutions on how to implement them in your blog or website. As an affiliate you in essence become the middle man for larger merchants to help promote their products or services. In most cases you can sign up to be an affiliate for almost any major company on the web like eBay, Amazon, and Delta. There are even major trade show exhibits that are targeted at affiliate marketing. The problem is that doing it this way can be an uphill battle in order to maximize your potential. I have seen some great promotional tools such as a trade show displays that are branded with the blog or website and have the co-brand of the specific affiliate. There are people on the Internet that makes thousands of dollars a month through affiliate marketing, but they have been doing this for a while and know the tools and resources to use. There is no real synergy between the two parties and the company facilitating the affiliate program has little to do or offer their core customers other than generate massive links and promotions.

We have been involved in various types of affiliate programs and have been looking at various network providers to find out which solutions that will work better for our blogs and websites. We located a few companies where we were impressed with the tools that they offer the publisher that can help you see exactly which promotions are working and which ad types are helping to generate the most click thru. So if you are serious you should find one of these conventions and stop by the trade show booths and gather information on how you can get involved. Now the one thing you have to remember is that affiliate marketing is not simply about driving traffic and clicks to the advertisers product or website but there is usually an action required. So that is where your partnership with a knowledgeable company can pay off. Also don’t forget that you need to think about your off line strategy that may include promotional caps that you hand out at conferences or trade shows in order to drive traffic to your blog or website in order to maximize your affiliate ROI. Instead of a lot of trial and error they have managers that can help evaluate your site and traffic and provide insight into what ads and links may work best for your blog or website.
