Learning the horse world

My son has started to take riding lessons and has really become involved in the care of upkeep of the horse. We have even gotten him boots, breeches, and a helmet so that he can now start competing in various riding events. I have learned that the horse community is very tight and look out for each other even in the competitions. Since our son is one of the youngest competitors many of the more experienced riders have taken time to help him understand the best ways to hold the reins, keep the horse between rounds, and what to do when he is the ring. We may eventually end buying a horse to help him continue his passion in riding and taking care of horses.
