Protecting your car and valuables

August 23, 2010 - 7:25 am - Posted by admin

There have been a larger number of car break-ins within our city and no one can figure out why. Many of them are the smash and grab type break-ins where there are valuables left on the front seat like CD’s, clothing, and even computers. It is a weird feeling walking outside and seeing that your car has been broken into. Having good insurance can help restore your car and some of your valuables if you have the right policy. Most people will search for vehicle insurance quotes online and get various quotes to help find the best deal. This will save you time and money as companies will be competing for your business. Although having someone local that can handle your claims and someone that you can talk to and get to know has a huge advantage over a call center. You can also get some great insight into the different types of insurance for your automobile. Finding your car insurance

July 16, 2010 - 9:14 am - Posted by admin

If you are in the market to change insurance companies then right now may be your best bet to finding the best rates. With many of the big insurance companies competing for your business this only helps to drive down price and provides a greater choice and flexibility for your the consumer. Most auto insurers that offer full coverage car insurance are enticing new customers with special discounts and adding new features to their policies. You are now seeing companies insuring boats, motorcycles, RV’s in order to provide a one stop shop for their customers. In the past most large insurers would stay away from the recreational vehicles because they presented a greater risk. With the competition heating up and customers were demanding a more rounded solution companies had to listen and now provide a more robust solution.

The last thing you want to make sure and ask is will there be a local agent handling your business and if not what is their guaranteed response time should you need to talk with someone or need assistance.

Going green in 2010

July 9, 2010 - 3:41 pm - Posted by admin

It does appear the recession is over now. Many are seeing signs of growth in so many areas and the numbers do suggest that our recession ended last month in April. The government is still trying to encourage people to think green by offering incentives to use energy efficient light bulbs and household appliances. I saw one housing support article at Homes Tips Plus about using salt to go green and save energy. This was also seen with the “cash for clunkers” where the government was trying to get some of the gas hogs off the road and help the auto industry. I know a lot of people are still feeling it in May and nothing drastic is going to happen anytime soon. The housing market is looking to rebound and this will be the sector of the market that leads us to stability in the financial sector. People will still have a tough time in the job market and this is where the White House can play a key role.

We need the politicians on Capitol Hill to do whatever it takes to create more jobs. We have too many jobs going over seas right now and this isn’t good for our economy at home. Creating more jobs will boost sales in the retail sectors of the Market and eventually lead to more spending across the board. New home buyers are getting big tax breaks right now and that’s good to see. I think the White House is assisting in our recovery from the recession, but they do need to follow this up with more jobs.

Developing Sales people

June 26, 2010 - 12:14 am - Posted by admin

If you are involved in sales management then you are well aware of the struggles and joys of leading a sales team. Each year most organizations spend thousands on sales training to help develop their new people as well as those tenured sales people. What I have found through my 15 years in sales management is that any type of sales training will not change behavior unless the sales teams is totally engaged and committed to changing their behavior. This goes for your poor performers and those high performers that have achieved success and are now experiencing a slump. I was reading through some books and one of the phrases that caught my eye and really resonated with me we are you going to gain commitment or unleash commitment. As we all know most sales people or employees will tell what you want to hear, and they are giving their commitment to make those 10 extra calls a week, but their emotional commitment may not be there.

I have been to various sales seminars that try and teach practical approaches that list of 5 different processes when implemented can help you achieve sales success. As with any new process the short term impact may be seen but most businesses need a long lasting approach that will drive sales and motivate your team to lead their peers and want to succeed beyond their own goals. Very few companies invest in Sales management training once they place sales leaders. The thought is that you earned the position and you should automatically know how to lead various personality types and get them moving towards a common goal. There are training companies out there like Sales Training Consultants that can help provide an ongoing solution to both your sales team and leaders in order to help your company achieve the results you are looking for.

Understanding your life insurance terms

May 27, 2010 - 10:04 pm - Posted by admin

First lets start with what a settlement is and what this particular article is referencing. A structured settlement usually follows an event in your life where you are given a payment over several years to help offset any damages or costs that you may incurred. Most notably these are seen in insurance settlement cases or product liability cases where a judgment is rendered for the company to pay damages to those that have been affected. The purpose of structured settlement is to help companies and insurance companies mitigate their exposure to potentially large cash outlays that could ultimately put them out of business. You need to understand your life insurance terms and definitions also before proceeding. For this very reason those that have settlements may want to look at their options with the current economic downturn and more and more companies claiming bankruptcy.

Plan your corporate travel

May 6, 2010 - 8:53 pm - Posted by admin

Here is the scenario: You just got approval for a new product launch that will greatly enhance your portfolio and open up a whole new market. You have been asked to put together a several regional business meetings to align sales and marketing and make a big splash with the launch. The launch meeting will be held across four regions to facilitate the number of sales and marketing people that need to be at each meeting as well as some key customers at each location. You are asked to do all this within 4 months so that you can beat your competitors to the market before they launch what could be a threat to your launch.
These scenarios happen every year and companies will turn to experts in event planning to help them with all the logistic and planning details. I have witnessed first hand the expertise that these planning companies bring to the table and are able to put together a meeting that will meet and surpass your expectations. You can work with a Corporate Travel Agency in order to help organize the logistics and meeting details. Plus many have the connections and buying power to obtain top key note speakers and hotel properties that you might not be able to get during busier times of the year.Corporate event planning experts  have been helping companies for years to create and execute meetings that will inspire and capture that enthusiasm needed for any type of meeting. Just by reading some of the accolades that they have received from their customers you can tell that no detail goes unnoticed. This is a critical piece when choosing an event planner and having one that can accommodate everything from the hotel, speakers, to travel. This will ensure that your guests and employees arrives safely and only have the meeting to worry about.

Healthcare jobs

April 17, 2010 - 7:36 am - Posted by admin

There have been numerous reports that the health care field may be in trouble once the health care reform actually starts to be put into action. It is estimated that 30% of the current physicians in practice will be retiring within the next 5-7 years and there are not enough people coming out of medical school to take their place. This does not account for the current patient load that many offices currently have and then you add an additional 32 million plus into the system we may be in for a severe shortage in help. Many of the mid-level practitioners will be responsible for taking on this additional patient load and the trend in medical assisting school will only rise as those that support the physicians continue to grow. While more people may have access to health care the question will be who will be there to deliver it?

Multichannel marketing

April 6, 2010 - 8:28 am - Posted by admin

Does your website have a ranking yet? Don’t worry if you still show a 0 with Google. It does take a little time to get them to rank your website. You can’t get good rankings over night and it does take time to move up the board. Keeping fresh content on your website and sticking to the topic of your overall subject will help you get better rankings with Google. Retailers are and website owners are looking for multichannel marketing ideas that can help them leverage all the latest and upcoming avenues to connect with their customers. Getting indexed in the top of your search terms is only one aspect of this. If you can move up their page rank scale; then you will do very well in Google’s search engine and all the other search engines that will soon index your website.
SEO or search engine optimization is something to consider after your website is a few months old. There are companies like Omniture that can help with SEO solutions and insight into retail business intelligence so that you can better understand where to spend your money. No need to worry about this now if you have a brand new website. You need to keep adding content at least 3 or 4 times a week, so the bots from search engines will know your website is being updated. After your website is about 6 to 8 months old and you have been updating the content on it regularly, you should have a ranking with Google then. If you still show a 0 after this time frame, it may be time to dive into the world of SEO. This can help move your website to the next level and make it more search engine friendly. I do think every new webmaster should add a RSS Feed to their site and this can do wonders for your page rank. This can also be helpful in obtaining emails for future communication with your customers. Then you could perform email analytics with the help of Omniture to understand click through and open rates. A good meta tag is also important for your search engine rankings and the way the bots index your website. It can be fun trying to play the Google Page Rank game and the goal is to get your number as high as possible. A page rank of 1 is not as good as a Google Page Rank of 5. Good luck with the rankings in the search engines and your ranks at Google.

Improve your customer contact

April 4, 2010 - 6:34 pm - Posted by admin

Companies are looking for ways to reach customers on the web and then be able to stay connected via the web and other means of marketing. Today those words are more true than ever as companies are seeing the success of MySpace, Facebook, Youtube , and more recently Twitter. They know that in order to appeal to the younger crowds they need to play where they play. Many are not turning to TV to get their information, but rather online blogs and social communities. With the recent announcement of Twitter receiving $35 million in venture capital funding it only strengthens the fact that the way people and companies interact with each other is changing.

You will see major organizations, news channels, and popular brands now setting up spaces on these high profiles social media sites. Smaller companies are turning to call center services in order to stay connected with their customers. By simply outsourcing to companies like Personalized Communications you can roll out a touch point for your customers in a matter of days instead of months to hire and train an internal force. Once they are able to gain permission to contact these new customers many companies are turning to answering service solutions in order to maximize their call center activities. They invite the interaction of their current customers to comment on new brands or features that they are launching into the market. Those in the news and media industry are looking for immediate feedback on their stories and you will see more social marketing tools developed to help them tailor their newscasts to the masses.

Expert SEO companies are being tasked with helping true marketing organizations to understand this new relationship that is building between consumers and companies and how best to use it to their advantage. Companies that are able to partner with a call center solution provider like Personalized Communications can expand their brand and have a positive impact on customer service. They also are able to take orders, schedule appointments, and provide emergency contact links in order to give your business a true 24/7 solution. This is critical in the age of instant forms of communications like Twitter and blogs.

Is myspace still a good place to be

April 1, 2010 - 6:52 am - Posted by admin

There are hundreds of ways to make money with MySpace, and not all of them involve doing a lot of work, one of these is selling your own products on MySpace. If you have a band, or if you are an actor, or a musician, or anyone that creates something, it is very possible to create a MySpace page that sells your goods. Many people fail to realize how many e members are only on MySpace to sell their own products, and market themselves to an entire community. While you might think this is normal for others, but not you, the truth is it’s worth a second look.

Selling your own products on MySpace is all about creating a large group of responsive friends that would be interested in buying your product, or service online. You have to also ask to people shop women’s perfume on social network sites? And will my marketing and branding work based on the age and demographics?Doing this means that you should not only try to collect large groups of friends on MySpace, but also contacting them on a regular basis to make sure they are keeping abreast with what you are doing, and continue to frequent your page.

Try giving away something free to spice up the visitor numbers to your page, and get some more people on your bandwagon. This can mean simply having a contest on your MySpace page every once, and a while where you give away whatever it is you are selling, or you can do it on a weekly basis for even more attraction. The concept is to get more people checking out your page by giving them a big incentive to visit your MySpace page each day.

Selling your own products on MySpace is as much about you, as it is about your product. It is imperative to brand yourself as a guru to whatever it is you are selling, and this means building trust with your friends. Whatever product you are selling, you should also offer free information, and question and answer sessions with your friends on your MySpace page as often as possible to show that your product is full of the same useful information you are sharing with your friends.

Automating your business

March 6, 2010 - 11:02 pm - Posted by admin

I was traveling through a remote part of Idaho and had to stop off for lunch in a small town. The food was great and the service was even better. The special was a venison burger with an organic salad made with local produce. In most big cities they would charge you quite a bit for this specialty type meat, but here the cost was only $7.95 with a drink. The dessert was either coconut cream pie or a fried Oreo sundae. So while it was not upscale at least it was a change of pace. They still used the old hand written receipts and did not have a receipt printer that was attached to their credit card machine to help automate the process a little bit. So when I turned in my expenses for that trip I had the hand written receipt for what look like a gourmet meal minus the Oreo sundae.

Creating jobs in 2010

January 20, 2010 - 3:40 am - Posted by admin

For those that have been watching the evolution of the Stimulus package that is slowly making its way through the House and Senate you may be asking how will this help the economy and when. This will increase jobs philadelphia and other cities will have to offer. I am no economic guru but from what I have read and heard through the various media outlets jobs will be created. There will be a lot of money spent on infrastructure so that companies that make heavy equipment, electronics, and durable goods. One of the central ideas is that if we get Americans back to work in the building of roads, buildings, and homes in America that will lead to an increased spending which will then turn into more jobs for those that run and operate retails businesses.

Keeping track of your fleet

January 17, 2010 - 4:59 pm - Posted by admin

In the world of technology one service that has come a long way is GPS tracking for vehicles. Many large companies use these automation systems to keep track of their fleet of cars and trucks to monitor delivery times, road conditions, and safety alerts. With the  tracking devices loaded on many delivery and construction trucks they can help monitor road speed, location, and service required. These devices have been thought of as big brother since the company can monitor the location of there vehicles and drivers at all times. This not only helps to improve productivity , but more importantly safety. These devices can send alerts to the office if a vehicle is traveling above the determined speed limit and dispatch can send out a message to  the driver to slow down to help increase safety.

Many of these devices have also helped local and national businesses improve their service and delivery because they know exactly where a package is at all times. This is how you are able to get real time stats on your package through some of the large delivery companies. These devices can also help deter theft since the thief will be unable to get far in the vehicle thanks to the satellite tracking device. They are run by software that is kept at the dispatch center to help control the flow and location of all the vehicles. Plus they can help track maintenance and service with your fleet to help avoid costly repairs.

January 12, 2010 - 5:42 am - Posted by admin

This past year has gotten many people thinking about their career choice and just how stable and safe their current jobs are. I grew up with a couple of guys who went to school to get their criminal justice degree and three of them entered law enforcement and one went on to obtain their law degree. The need for qualified and committed police officers is on the rise as states and cities are looking to fill gaps that have been caused by lack of budget. As the new year progresses and the economy rebounds many of those positions that have been left vacant will now need to be filled. If you are looking to change careers then you can find out how to obtain your criminal justice degrees online through colleges like Northwestern College. They offer the ability to obtain your Associate Degree online and network with working professionals in the legal system and law enforcement.

Increasing your blog traffic in 2010

January 10, 2010 - 2:27 pm - Posted by admin

Many blog owners would love to have more traffic and readers visit their site. If you search the web you will find thousands of offers to help get more website traffic to your site or blog in as little as 24 hours. Some of these are short term fixes and they use what is called pop under traffic which is where your site is shown to individuals after they leave a particular site. You can request the services of a business web directory expert to help you understand that will work and provide long term results to help get your site noticed. Others will submit your sites to FFA or link farm sites which have very little traffic generation capabilities and can even hurt your search engine placement.

BLog SEOOne very valuable way that we have found to help increase traffic, search engine position and back links is leveraging the link building capabilities of web directories with optimized keyword searches that are picked up by the major search engines. Since most directories can be carried out over 1000′s of sources, building in the keyword, and backlinks to the client helps to maximize this channel and achieve faster results for their clients. Imagine having our site rise to the first page results on search engines in as little as 3 weeks. This type of recognition is usually only attainable through some very serious marketing.
