We all get those moments in our lives where we seem to just go, go, go! From one activity to the next, we are constantly going 90 miles an hour in an effort to keep up with the commitments we’ve made. It also seems as though we are all striving to do things bigger and better than the next person, while practically running the soles off our shoes in the process. So, here’s my advice on making your life a little less hectic, allowing yourself to enjoy the simple things.
1. Schedule some family time.
We all love our families, but often they are the ones that get the most neglected when we are taking care of our other commitments. So, best way to give some love and attention to your family is to schedule time to be with them. Pencil it in, alongside everything else you have going on, and stick to it!
2. Not spotless? Not a problem.
You can spend hours upon hours cleaning your home, only to have a kid tornado rip through and set you back to square one. If your house isn’t perfect, who really cares? As long as you are in the company of those that you love, it shouldn’t matter that you have a few dirty dishes.
3. You can say NO!
Sometimes, the word “no” is the hardest for us to say. I know that I have a problem with it, and it bugs my husband to no end! We don’t want to disappoint anyone or leave someone stranded, so we end up saying yes to every request that comes our way. This has got to stop! You have to make sure that you and your family are your number one priority, then everyone else can get their demands in. Make sure that you stop and think, before just agreeing to help someone out.
