Covering your floors

We recently had our basement finished and were looking for ideas for our flooring that would be creative and functional. I loved the idea of having hard wood floors, but in the basement our only option was the engineered flooring that looks pretty close. We found some area rugs that we could lay over the top in our entertainment area that would bring out the rustic wood color in our baseboards while still showing off the flooring and it turned out quite nice. The idea was to have a simulated hard wood look without making the basement to cold and the area rugs were just the right touch.
